“I hope this place is reassuring”, Zaspean remarked to himself as he entered the hospital.
He had been appointed as the caretaker of this hospital, but his job for such a title could best be considered as ‘outrageous’. Yes outrageous it was, just like the shoes he was wearing. Patched-up antiquated converse they were, with his name etched on the inside of his shoe. The sole was worn off by the years of intense walking, and miniature cracks started to evolve once again on the sides of his shoes.
Despite his athletic capability, he still dearly loved his converse
Zaspean had grown up in a family where he was the lone child. Living the initial years of his life in bliss amongst his parents; food, money, toys, he had everything and anything he could think of. However, he could never imagine what the forthcoming years would present to him. At the age of 10, his parents were involved in an accident, an accident that sealed their fate, and left Zaspean all alone. He was taken in the custody of his caring grandmother, but she too couldn’t persist long enough in her life to help Zaspean through the years of his major physical and mental development. If you guessed puberty, you are correct. But if you did not, then I guess you haven’t hit it yet.
Little Zaspean just couldn't do anything. In fact no body could do anything, except for helping this boy
He spent the next few years selling handfuls of toffees on the streets, and it wasn’t soon when he was admitted in to an orphanage. Exclusive care was taken of Zaspean as the shock of several losses and house to house migration accompanied by strange aberrant places. Not only was he was given access to all the luxuries of life, but he was also allowed to go to school, perhaps in an attempt to release him off the tragic memories embedded in his head.
It was during this specific period that he developed a great zest for sports. Zaspean possessed the heart of an Olympian; he knew that defeat was not sufficient to make him give up. He would occasionally devote hours after his school, running around the school track, to many like a maniac, but to others like a horse; full of energy and strength, driven by the sheer force of success, and his only competition – the wind. Consequently he developed the attire of a strong athlete, and just by looking at the state of his legs, one could easily deduce that he was none other than a Cross Country runner. His thirst for knowledge too exceeded others. Always adamant to engulf more information, Zaspean showed an extraordinary interest in Biology and Chemistry, particularly on how does the human body function, and what makes it do so. After years of hard work, he was now, at the age of 19, in a university at Pennsylvania, undergoing a degree in Biochemistry
Whatever Zaspean did, there was always some type of motivation that drove him to his goal
